Practical Volunteer Days

Do you want to get outside to help our wildlife and perhaps learn new skills? We are currently looking for volunteers for the following:

Valley’s Monday Volunteer Days

Join our Community Ecologist working across different local green spaces across the valleys. These tasks take place on 2 Mondays a month, one in Caerphilly and one in Blaenau Gwent.

Tasks vary depending on the seasonal demands but have included heathland restoration, bracken bashing, building hibernaculum and tree planting.

Valley’s Saturday Volunteer Days

We are pleased to offer a weekend volunteer opportunity! A work party is held on the last Saturday of the month at one of our reserves in the valleys.

The activities vary from grassland management, building wildlife shelters, litter picking and tree thinning – depending on the needs of the reserve. Work tasks run from 10am-2pm.

Newport Monthly Volunteer Days

Join us on our monthly Thursday task in Newport, where we are supporting the work of the The Twmps Nature Restoration Group / Grwp Adfer Natur Y Twmp at The Twmps, Barrack Hill, Newport.

Sessions are held on the last Thursday of the month and involve a variety of activities from practical reserve management to species ID and survey training, depending on the time of year!
