Ciaran will explore the world of “solitary” bees, from what makes them unique to the lives of the different species we have here in Monmouthshire.

Despite its wealth of different habitats, Monmouthshire’s bees are under-recorded in comparison with other parts of South Wales. The Bees of Monmouthshire Project is making efforts to fill in some of the many gaps in our knowledge of local bees. Their new work is to record all of the bee species that are now present, and to help people who live here to become more aware and knowledgeable about these wonderful and vital insects.
