Using bat detectors and more to spot these elusive and endangered mammals of the night with Michael Rodgers
About the event
Our Pentwyn Farm nature reserve is home to some of Gwent's most elusive and endangered mammals - bats! We'll be using bat detectors to listen in real time to ultrasonic bat calls at Pentwyn farm.
The walk will be led by Michael Rodgers, who is a freelance ecologist specialising in bats, Great Crested Newts and reptiles. Michael has volunteered with Gwent Wildlife Trust for over 10 years and has worked on a wide range of projects from reintroductions to habitat restoration.
This session is weather dependent and may be cancelled if inclement weather is anticipated.
