Our #Green Peatland Recovery partnership project will be looking at opportunities for developing peatland restoration projects across South East Wales, Mid Wales and North Wales, working in partnership with Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales, Local Councils and land owners we will identify opportunities to restore this valuable Welsh resource.
Now is a pivotal moment for developing peatland restoration projects in Wales, the Welsh Government alongside Natural Resources Wales have committed to restoring all peatlands. The Welsh Wildlife Trust movement are joining this call to arms to support our nation in achieving the long term ambition of restoring 35,000ha of peatlands. Working with Wildlife Trusts from across the U.K. we will pool our collective knowledge of on the ground delivery and how we will achieve this important work over the next ten years.
The #Green Peatland Recovery project sits at the frontline of Gwent Wildlife Trust's commitment to facilitating nature's recovery and delivering nature based solutions. The projects will deliver multiple benefits for the wildlife we work to protect and the local communities we serve. If you are an owner of a peat resource in Gwent and you are interested in potentially being involved in the project please get in contact with us and support our ambition to tackle the climate and ecological crises.
